LVHHH (vlv!) R*n #1046, 20 December 2008
A rare event—hashing through the snow, in Las Vegas! (Near Las Vegas, actually...across
SR 159 from Red Rock Canyon. It was three days or so after we'd gotten dumped on, and there was
still up to a foot of the white stuff on the ground at higher elevations.)

XB-70 at the Air Force Museum, 24 December 2007
Got a chance to go over to the experimental-aircraft hangar this time (it's not within
the museum buildings, so getting there usually requires signing up for the scheduled
tours...good thing my father's (1) retired Air Force and (2) volunteers at the museum,
so he can take anybody in there anytime the museum is open). Lots of one-of-a-kind (or
close to it) aircraft in here, but the XB-70 Valkyrie,
a Mach 3 bomber designed in the late '50s, is the star of the show.

Nellis Air Show 1997
I really need to locate the prints from which I scanned these, as they have compression
artifacts out the wazoo and need to be rescanned with something better than whatever I
was using back in the day. Anyway, these are a handful of pictures from the show out at
Nellis AFB in the Air Force's 50th-anniversary year. This was, if I remember right, the
first of the big airshows they've been doing out there every year since. I have pix from
newer shows sitting in iPhoto that I need to go through and put up sometime.

OCAZ Olds Show 2008, 23 February 2008
Pix from the all-Oldsmobile show put on the last week of February by the
Oldsmobile Club of Arizona in Scottsdale.

Pikes Peak, 24 June 2007
I had a day to kill after the 2007 AHA National Homebrewers Conference in Denver before
returning to Las Vegas, so I headed down the road a bit to Pikes Peak, a little bit to
the west of Colorado Springs. It's an interesting drive up and down, and as long as you
don't do anything stupid, it's safe enough even without the guardrails. :-) There were
also more than a few hotrods heading north on I-25 as I was heading down there and as I
was returning; I grabbed pictures of some of them on the return trip as I passed them
and have included them as well.
