Shut up, Wesley!

T0QTcxGNobody must’ve told Wil Wheaton it’s better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt:

Why Do Celebrities Keep Blaming The NRA For Everything?

Wil Wheaton, the erstwhile child actor who once publicly berated his parents for having political opinions different from his, has a problem with the National Rifle Association. In recent years Wheaton has taken to Twitter to excoriate the NRA for—well, for what exactly? It’s sort of hard to say.

Wheaton has loudly been declaring the same thing over and over again for some time now: “Fuck the NRA,” he regularly tweets. He said it in December 2012, in April 2013, and this year once in April, another time in April, yet another time in April, once in May, once in June, once again in June, once more in June, one more time in June, once this month, and once again this month.

Why does Wheaton hate the NRA? For the same reason many other people hate it: ignorance. Wheaton serves as a great example of the near-total sphere of stupidity that encapsulates a great deal of the perennial American gun debate: somebody told him the NRA was responsible for mass shootings and terrorist attacks, he believed it unequivocally, and he continues to believe it.

Mirrored: Tyrants to be registered with gun owners

The contents of the following list originated at this site, but agents of the goons listed within had WordPress take it down. It’s a list of home addresses and phone numbers (where known) of California state senators who passed the intolerable acts signed into law by Gov. Moonbeam about a week ago. Actions have consequences.

Do these intolerable acts affect me? Only to the extent that I might travel to California to visit relatives…but that shouldn’t be relevant. Any encroachment on liberty anywhere is an encouragement to enemies of liberty everywhere, and should be fought at every opportunity.

Without further ado, the list (cribbed from here before it goes away):

The proper response?  “Because ‘fuck you,’ that’s why.”

Then again, one of the reasons I’ve not pursued a CCW or a C&R FFL is that one should not have to seek permission from the powers-that-be to exercise one’s rights:

Massachusetts Town Subjects Carry Permit Applicants To An Essay

Folks, I’m not joking with this one. Lowell, Massachusetts is going to require gun permit applicants to write an essay to explain why they’re exercising their Second Amendment rights. If a federal judge struck down California’s 10-day waiting period for gun owners as an unconstitutional infringement on their civil rights, then this essay portion should surely be struck down (via Lowell Sun):

A new firearms policy will go into place despite a final plea from gun-rights advocates Tuesday for looser restrictions.

The policy requires anyone seeking a license-to-carry to take a gun-safety course. Anyone applying for an unrestricted gun license must state in writing why they should receive such a license, and to provide additional documentation, such as prior military or law-enforcement service, a prior license-to-carry permit, or signed letters of recommendation.

Tell me again how we need more gun control

Criminal control is more like it…especially in blue-state shitholes:

Obama’s Disorganized Community: More Than 100 Shot In Gun Control Paradise of Chicago Already in 2016

You can pretty much guarantee none of the weapons used were legally owned, so of course we need more gun control, or something. Maybe instead of a symbolic empty chair at Obama’s final State of the Union we should have an entire empty section to highlight his abominable failures as both community organizer and president.

Quoting the Chicago Tribune:

Seven people were shot to death and 30 more were wounded across Chicago over the weekend, raising the number of shootings in the city to more than 100 in just over a week into the new year, according to police.

The fatal shootings included two teens killed by a store clerk during a robbery in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, and one of three people shot at a party four blocks from Mayor Rahm Emanuel‘s home.

As of Monday morning, at least 19 people have been killed in gun violence in Chicago this year and at least 101 more have been wounded, according to datacompiled by the Tribune.  This time last year, nine people had been killed and another 31 wounded, according to statistics kept by the Chicago Tribune.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi released a statement blaming most of the violence on “chronic gang conflicts.”

Every year Chicago Police recover more illegal guns than officers in any other city, and as more and more illegal guns continue to find their way into our neighborhoods it is clear we need stronger state and federal gun laws,” Guglielmi said in the statement. “So far this year, the majority of the gun violence we’ve seen are a result of chronic gang conflicts driven in part by social media commentary and petty disputes among rival factions. Despite an overall lack of cooperation from gang members, detectives are working aggressively and making optimistic progress in several cases.”

Protip: the definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing time after time and expecting a different result.

Canadian News Anchor Gives Warning To American Gun Owners

Registration leads to confiscation. The video explains how it happened in Canada. Don’t make the mistake of thinking it couldn’t happen here. Yes, we have a Second Amendment that says otherwise, but the regime in Washington treats the Constitution like so much toilet paper. 0bama’s pen and phone are not stronger than your gun, but it is up to you to make that point to him and his lawless henchmen.

ACLU: totally copacetic with taking guns from people on no-fly list

Worthless bunch of communist bastards.  Their advocacy for “civil liberties” is in the same vein as Spinal Tap’s appeal to its fans…becoming more selective:

Never trust the ACLU. NEVER trust the ACLU. NEVER TRUST THE ACLU.

I mean, geez, this is too raw even for Buzzfeed: “The American Civil Liberties Union is taking no position on legislation that would bar people from buying guns if they are on the federal government’s no-fly list — a list that the ACLU has spent the past five years arguing is unconstitutional.

Perhaps Moonbeam should get his own house in order first

Heard about this on the radio on the way into work this morning…mainly that Gov. Brian Sandoval has already fired back at the little shit:

Fact Check: Jerry Brown’s False ‘Terrorist Back Door’ for Guns

On Saturday, California Governor Jerry Brown (D) answered questions about the San Bernardino terror attack by pointing fingers at Arizona and Nevada, although the guns used in the terror attack were purchased legally in California.

Breitbart News previously reported that the two handguns used in attack were legally purchased by attacker Syed Farook, and the two AR-15 rifles were legally purchased by another individual some time ago. The Sacramento Bee reports that these legal purchases took place in California.

Yet according to the Bee, Brown tried to blame terrorism on the pro-Second Amendment laws that exist in states like Arizona and Nevada.

I’ve got your “hope and change” right here

Read the whole thing…there’s more I’d like to copy, but I’m dangerously close to the limits of fair use as it is:

Before Barack Obama, We Did Not Have Shootings Like This

Two weeks ago, a man began firing shots in a parking lot in Colorado Springs. He moved into a Planned Parenthood facility. Eventually captured, it turns out the man is a lunatic. He lived in a trailer with no running water or electricity. He had a history of violent behavior and crazy theories about the world. But according to the American political left, the man was clearly a Christian pro-life activist.

A few days ago in California, Islamic radicals shot up a Christmas party. Armed with long barrel rifles — not handguns — and an assortment of other instruments of death, they killed more than a dozen people. The American political left, before the facts became clear, immediately started blaming Republicans, the National Rifle Association and Christians. Once it was clear that Muslims were involved, the political left looked the other way.

We are seeing both a rise in these sorts of shootings and also a rise in political blame from the left directed at their opponents. But things were not always this way. Yes, there have been mass shootings in the past. Bill Clinton, even after signing the assault weapons ban into law, saw Columbine. George W. Bush saw the Virginia Tech shooting. Though gun violence continues to decline in this country, these sorts of events seem to be happening more and more often.

In fact, the pace does seem to have quickened in Barack Obama’s America. The man who tells his fellow Americans that incendiary rhetoric can cause violence once told his supporters to take guns to knife fights. He told supporters to get in the faces of their neighbors. He told Hispanic voters to punish Republicans who, Obama said, were their enemies.
