First batch of bullets is cast. They were coming out of the mold wrinkled earlier…checked my dox and they suggested the lead and/or the mold may have been too cold. Cranking up the lead pot and preheating the mold on a hot plate did the trick. These .44 240-grain semi-wadcutters need to be lubed and sized and have gas checks fitted before they’re ready for loading. They were made with recovered range lead (which means these could be considered “recycled” bullets :) ) and were water-quenched for more hardness.
