What’s that sucking sound I’m hearing? Sounds like a swamp about to be drained.

I think I need to pick up the pace on my scotch-drinking…went to pour some 19-year-old Macallan and the cork split in half, with half of it now floating in the bottle. The same happened to a 15-year-old Laphroaig a while back.

What I’ve been doing instead of watching the returns: making Evil Black Rifle® food. (55gr FMJBT over 21.1gr Hodgdon 4895 in 5.56 NATO brass with Winchester small-rifle primers, more specifically.) I also have some .40 and .44 cast bullets that need to be lubed and sized.

On the right: .223 brass that’s been ultrasonically cleaned. On the left: 5.56 brass that’s been both ultrasonically cleaned and tumble polished. The tumbler has a fresh batch of media, not contaminated with powder and lead residue from pulling double duty as cleaner and polisher. I might just go back to tumbling all of my brass after cleaning. It doesn’t make it work better, but it looks nice. :)

First time out with the new toy, right after picking it up this morning. Looks like some sight adjustment is in order. (I was shooting 5.56 NATO 55gr FMJ…basically an M193 load, though it was not surplus ammo.)
