Differences

This arrived in my inbox with an attribution of questionable provenance. That aside, it’s a useful illustration of the difference in mindset between the Right and the Left:

If a Republican doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
If a Democrat is down-and-out, he wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
A Democrat demands that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
If a Democrat decides he needs health care, he demands that the rest of us pay for his.

DCCC email: ‘We’re getting steamrolled by Karl Rove,’ ‘worst week so far’

DCCC email: ‘We’re getting steamrolled by Karl Rove,’ ‘worst week so far’

Karl Rove?  Is he actually still a thing?  I thought he’d gone the way of phrasing:

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyLWrKh2fB0]

Nobody on this side of the aisle has much use for him anymore.  If the Jackass Party is so far behind the times that it thinks an appeal against Karl Rove is to its benefit, though, perhaps the best thing to do is to just stand back and let them continue their deluded ways.  Never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.

Astroturfers Against Rush

Is it any surprise that the Soros-funded Media Matters (do they?) is behind this pathetic effort?  This is my “surprised” face: :-|

Meet The Activists Trying To Destroy Rush Limbaugh

Bio on the group’s Media Matters connection (emphasis added):

Angelo Carusone: Executive vice president of the George Soros-funded liberal attack group Media Matters for America. “Stop Rush, I initially rolled it out in late 2009 and early 2010,” Carusone told the Village Voice in 2012. “At the time, the Beck work was doing well…I started Stop Rush in 2009, 2010, and when I went to register the domain, I saw that Rush owned StopRush.com.” Carusone also agreed with the Village Voice that Sandra Fluke represented Limbaugh’s “Waterloo.” Carusone is responsible for leading the Stop Rush efforts and then “handing off” responsibilities to less well-known activists to create the appearance of grassroots outrage, according to Limbaugh’s staff.

On Harry “Pederast” Reid’s Goal of Gutting the First Amendment

Democrats’ Push to Criminalize Dissent

What else would you expect from people who think “because shut up, that’s why” is a valid form of argumentation? He could also have mentioned Sarah Palin’s getting hounded out of office by bullshit lawsuits, but maybe he figured that would be piling on.  The money quote:

The only thing stopping federal authorities from suffocating free speech — not only by independent groups such as the SBA List, but by individuals, trade groups, National Review, and the New York Times — is the First Amendment.

And Harry Reid wants to gut it. Figure out why that is and you’ll know everything you need to know about the [Democrat] party, which with each passing day functions less and less like a political party and more like a crime syndicate.

Today’s “See, I Told You So” moment

Mitt Romney: The need for a mighty U.S. military

Russia invades, China bullies, Iran spins centrifuges, the Islamic State (a terrorist threat “beyond anything that we’ve seen,” according to the defense secretary ) threatens — and Washington slashes the military. Reason stares.

Several arguments are advanced to justify the decimation of our defense. All of them are wrong.

State Department Hikes Fee To Renounce Citizenship Amid Record Number Of Renunciations

At the rate things are going, if a wall ever gets put up at the border, it’s becoming more and more likely it’ll be aimed at keeping people in, not keeping people out:

State Department Hikes Fee To Renounce Citizenship Amid Record Number Of Renunciations

The only bright spot in there is that we only need to look at the Berlin Wall (what’s left of it, anyway) to know how that’ll likely work out over the long run.
