Execrable, but not unexpected

…and they wonder why they’re perennially the lowest-rated cable news channel:

MSNBC host hopes Trayvon Martin ‘whooped the s–t out of George Zimmerman’

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry said during an address at Cornell University this week that she hopes 17-year-old Trayvon Martin “whooped the s–t” out of gunman George Zimmerman during their fatal encounter in 2012.

[…]

Harris-Perry’s address, which was captured and uploaded to YouTube by the university’s conservative group, the Cornell Review, continued: “And I hope he whooped the s–t out of George Zimmerman. And it’s not disreputable because he encountered a stranger who was prepared to kill him, and you know how I know? Because he killed him.”

Neither Harris-Perry nor a spokesperson for MSNBC responded to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.

Jonathan Gruber Sacked

truly-great-ways-for-movie-villains-to-die--20110815044542268Perhaps lying about 404care to get it rammed down our throats wasn’t such a great idea after all:

RomneyCare/ObamaCare Architect Jonathan Gruber Is Having A Bad Week

First, the State of Vermont stopped paying him when it came to light he held Americans in such low regard. The state’s auditor has found some fishy items in Gruber’s billing and has asked the state’s AG to investigate the matter.

Now comes word that the new Republican Governor of Massachusetts has fired him from the state’s exchange board.

Still, I suppose it beats what happened to Hans Gruber. :-)

Polls Indicate America May Be DoomedIt's Not Fascism When We Do It

Far too many people simply have no concept of the sacrifices it took to win our freedom, and what it takes to maintain it. A recent Rasmussen Report highlights that disturbing fact in a way that makes me worry that this generation will be the one that sells us all into slavery to tyranny.

Rasmussen conducted a telephone poll of 800 likely voters that asked respondents “Should the president have the right to ignore federal court rulings if they are standing in the way of actions he feels are important for the country?” The results of this poll are mind blowing, and disturbing.

According to Rasmussen, 26% of those polled believe the President should have the right to ignore federal court rulings. It is not surprising that Democrats were more likely to believe this, with a full 43% saying he should be able to ignore the courts while only 35% believe otherwise. This represents a plurality of Democrats who believe the federal courts should have no ability to prevent the President from acting outside the law!

Why hasn’t he had his clock cleaned yet?

BESTPIX Joe Biden Swears In New Defense Secretary Ashton CarterIt must be the Secret Service. How else to explain how Joe “Plugs” Biden hasn’t been decked multiple times already by the men whose wives and daughters he’s assaulted, other than that the Secret Service would jump in to save his pervy ass?

Top Democrat 2016 contenders are poor generals in the ‘war on women’

Now that the opening shots have been fired in the “war on women” 2016 narrative, a ploy used by Democrats in 2012 to paint Republicans as anti-woman, it’s time to retaliate. The current top two contenders for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination – Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden – are really, really lousy figures in the pro-woman department.

Vice President Biden, who currently appears to skate away from controversy as “Creepy Uncle Joe,” has a weird habit of treating women like Richard Dawson, the former “Family Feud” host known for kissing female contestants. As my colleague Byron York pointed out on Tuesday, it’s time to ask why it’s okay for Biden to act like a 1960s corporate manager (without the extramarital affairs) but not okay for the coworker or friend to do so.

Especially given the fact that this is the same Biden who has for decades championed the Violence Against Women Act and more recently, the Obama administration’s efforts to combat campus sexual assault. In 2000, as York also noted, Biden said “There is no circumstance under which a man has a right to touch a woman without her consent other than self-defense.” This would be at odds with the inappropriate touching of women by Biden during White House events. As far as I can tell, he has not been defending himself from constant physical attacks by politicians, wives or daughters. But I guess that would be the ultimate twist.

Doomberg channels his inner Kluxer

Not content to let the well-documented racism of the gun-grabbers remain in the past, he’s slapping a fresh coat of paint on it and bringing it into the present:

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg: Disarm Minorities

“[Former New York City Mayor, founder of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, financial backer of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and current jefe of Everytown for Gun Safety Michael] Bloomberg claimed that 95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority and between the ages of 15 and 25,” aspentimes.com reports. “Cities need to get guns out of this group’s hands and keep them alive, he said.” Yup, you heard right: Bloomberg wants to disarm [blacks]. That’s because . . .

“These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,” Bloomberg said. “They just don’t have any long-term focus or anything. It’s a joke to have a gun. It’s a joke to pull a trigger.”

Maybe so. But it’s not a joke to deny law-abiding [blacks] their natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms because of criminal acts. And once again, the doyenne of civilian disarmament is pulling statistics out of his posterior parts.

If they can’t even properly identify that which they want to ban, perhaps they should treat themselves to a nice cup of STFU.

Democrat Lawmakers Fail To Provide Factual Support For “High Capacity Magazine Clip” Bill

“High capacity magazine clip?”  Never heard of such a thing.  Some guns take a removable box magazine, which may or may not be quickly reloaded with a stripper clip.  In some cases (such as the M1 Garand), the magazine is part of the gun, not a separate element.  (You can load the Garand with individual cartridges, but it’s faster if you use the en bloc clips designed for the purpose.)

Perhaps they’re related to the “30-magazine clip” described by the asshole in this video:

Missouri Governor Ordered National Guard To Stand Down

Since he’s a Democrat, he’ll never be held responsible for this stunning lack of judgment:

Missouri Governor Ordered National Guard To Stand Down

Missouri Democratic Governor Jay Nixon ordered the Missouri National Guard not to patrol Ferguson during the first night of destructive riots after police officer Darren Wilson’s grand jury exoneration in the Michael Brown shooting case.

Businesses were burned that November night and 20-year old DeAndre Joshua was shot to death in a burned car.

Among many other things, this is on him:

HUD captured by lobbyists

HUD captured by lobbyists

A top executive of a trade association that lobbies for local housing authorities was hired by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to regulate those same authorities — and was allowed to keep her paid job at the lobbying association at the same time.

HUD’s Inspector General said the 2011 hiring of Debra Gross, deputy director of the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities, was an “inherent conflict of interest” in the same way it would be to hire an Exxon lobbyist to regulate oil companies.

In taking the job as HUD’s deputy assistant secretary for public housing project policy, Gross insisted on a $200,000 salary, which is higher than the government pay scale. After starting the job, she was also given several performance bonuses without having performance reviews.

And once at HUD she hired other industry advocates onto her staff. She made it a big priority of her office to scrap oversight scrutiny of housing authorities. Gross and her staff then lobbied for the housing authorities to have the power to pay higher salaries to administrators, to let them turn federal dollars into “profit” and to lower performance metrics they had to report, the inspector general says.

Gross was hired by Assistant Secretary Sandra B. Henriquez to head the federal agency’s Office of Policy, Program and Legislative Initiatives for Public and Indian Housing while continuing to hold her post at the industry group, which represents city-run housing authorities that get billions of HUD dollars annually.

Whistleblower: Pelosi Covered Up Gov’t Role In Housing Crisis

Keep this in mind the next time they try to brag about their economic “recovery:”

Whistleblower: Pelosi Covered Up Gov’t Role In Housing Crisis

Subprime Scandal: We’ve long suspected the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission wasn’t honest in examining events before the meltdown. But an ex-commissioner says the probe was actually a full-blown political cover-up.

In a just-released book, former FCIC member Peter Wallison says that a Democratic Congress worked with the commission’s Democratic chairman to whitewash the government’s central role in the mortgage debacle. The conspiracy helped protect some of the Democrats’ biggest stars from scrutiny and accountability while helping justify the biggest government takeover of the financial sector since the New Deal.

Wallison’s sobering, trenchantly written “Hidden in Plain Sight: What Really Caused the World’s Worst Financial Crisis and Why It Could Happen Again” reveals that the Democrat-led panel buried key data proving that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and other federal agencies pushed the housing market over the subprime cliff. The final FCIC report put the blame squarely on Wall Street.

In 2009, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appointed her California pal Phil Angelides, a long-time Democrat operative, to lead the commission. The fix seemed to be in, and Wallison’s account of the inner workings of the 10-member body confirms it.
