This is what you get with open borders

It’s playing out in Europe about the same way as it is here.  The countries are different, but the crimes are pretty much the same.  If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country:

‘No Borders’ Activist Gang Raped By Migrants, Pressured Into Keeping Quiet To Not ‘Damage Cause’

A young, female ‘No Borders’ activist working in a migrant camp on the France-Italy border remained silent about her gang rape by Sudanese migrants for over a month because “the others asked me to keep quiet.”

Colleagues are alleged to have said that reporting the crime would set back their struggle for a borderless world.

The ‘No Borders’ activist had dedicated a month of her life to helping migrants. Her group was stationed between Italy and France in Ponte San Ludovico in Ventimiglia when the atrocity occurred, according to reports from local papers La Stampa and Il Secolo XIX, and now reported in the major Italian national Corriere Della Serra.

One Saturday night, as loud music played at a nearby party, the woman was reportedly trapped in a shower block set up near the camp in a pine forest know as Red Leap.

A gang of African migrants allegedly raped her there, and her cries for help are said to have gone unheard because of the music.

The Democrats’ Preoccupation with Inequality

The Democrats’ Preoccupation with Inequality

Material inequality is the predominant concern of the [Democrat] party.

Indeed, material inequality has been the predominant concern of the Left since Karl Marx. This raises two questions: How important is material inequality? And if it is not that important, why does it preoccupy the left-wing mind?

The answer to the first question is: It depends.

Not much of a surprise, in hindsight

“Hyphenated-Americans” were literally a Communist plot. Stalin’s post-WWII plan was to destabilize the United States by sowing Balkanization among our different races and ethnicities:

Great Moments in Leftist History

Quoting from School of Darkness, the autobiography of Communist-turned-ex-Communist Bella Dodd:

By April 1945, there was evidence of trouble in the Communist Party. Uneasiness increased among its functionaries. I first became aware of this in my work with the Italian Commission of the American Communist Party.

One day two foreigners appeared in our midst, recently come from Italy. Berti and Donnini were a smooth, attractive pair, who called themselves professors and had become leaders of the Italian Commission. They immediately started a controversy, about the work among national minorities.

Earl Browder at the convention of 1944 had insisted on the elimination of a sense of difference among the foreign-born and had moved to have them treated as part of the American labor movement. To this Professors Berti and Donnini offered strenuous objections. They emphasized the importance of separate national organizations, of encouraging the foreign-born to use their languages, and of circulating foreign-language newspapers. They encouraged the organizing of the different national groups almost as if these were foreign colonies. It would strengthen the sense of nationalism among them, they asserted, a necessary thing for the building of world communism.

These two Party functionaries found themselves on the carpet for their unwelcome views. Plans were on foot to expel them. Then, suddenly, came the amazing news that they were members of the Italian Communist Party! Up to this point, like others, I had regarded them as honest but misguided foreigners with a penchant for disputation.

Now I realized that nothing they said had been unpremeditated, and that they were not speaking for themselves. They represented the International Communist movement and it was clear that Browder’s approach to the national problem was in disfavor with some sections of world communism.

Is Gawker Destroying Itself From The Inside? Let’s Hope So.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.  Maybe MSNBC will follow Gawker into oblivion next:

Is Gawker Destroying Itself From The Inside? Let’s Hope So.

Because what may have seemed like a shocking new low was really just the inevitable trajectory of one of the most toxic cultures in all of media. It was the natural extension of a media empire with an editorial mission that owes far more allegiance to bullying and bitterness than it does to accuracy or ethics. This most recent scandal—which seems to have suddenly woken up the general public—is not an anomaly. It’s exactly what you get when you mix bad leadership, bad incentives, and selfish, self-loathing people.

Just look for a second at some of Gawker’s biggest stories over the years. There was the time they stole an iPhone prototype and nearly faced criminal prosecution for it. There was the time they ran private nude photos of quarterback Brett Favre to his objections and the objections of the recipient. There was the nude video of Dov Charney. There was the time they published an anonymous source’s recounting of a supposed one night stand by a female Senate candidate. There was the time they ran humiliating commentary against stolen footage of a sex tape featuring Hulk Hogan.

…to mention nothing of this Wonkette excrescence (link is to archive.org) which they attempted to memory-hole sometime in 2012 or 2013:

wonkette: OMG I AM WATCHINGMICHELLE MALKIN’S INTERNET VIDEOS FOR THE FIRST TIME
operative: she has internet videos?
operative: does she do the thing with the ping-pong balls?*
wonkette: SHE HAS A WHOLE FUCKING INTERNET VIDEO NETWORK THIS SHIT IS BANANAS

The turd burglar responsible for that made on this list of “the ten most heinously unpleasant Gawker writers.”

It’s Getting Tough To Tell Planned Parenthood From Nazis

Not too surprising, given their founder’s fondness for eugenics, especially as practiced by the NSDAP:

It’s Getting Tough To Tell Planned Parenthood From Nazis

German SS officer and Auschwitz “physician” Josef Mengele once wrote, “There’s only one truth and one true beauty …There’s no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ in nature. There’s only ‘appropriate’ or ‘inappropriate’… Both sides receive equal chances. Nevertheless, nature provides a strainer. Things that are ‘inappropriate’ fall through since they lose in the struggle for survival.”

More lately, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director for medical services, had this to say: “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part. I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

It’s almost like Planned Parenthood is the strainer and babies, those inappropriate little consequences of life, fall through in the struggle for survival while the organs, the appropriate parts, survive and get sold at market. Ain’t progress grand?

SJWs’ Latest Windmill: Craft Beers With Suggestive Names

double_ipa_logo.286x0The author of the Federalist piece knocks Double D Double IPA.  I’ve had it, and wouldn’t have any qualms about it being in my fridge:

Social Attention Whores Have New Made-Up Concern to Complain About: Craft Beers With Sexually-Suggestive Names

Hey Slate, Bullying Microbreweries Won’t End Misogyny

The writers at Slate should get off their high horses and just drink a beer already.

In a recent article, William Gordon wails about the “gross puns and derogatory labels” on craft beers. And maybe he’s right—some microbrews probably should clean up their act.

But maybe Slate should also apply the Left’s traditional logic: if you don’t like a misogynistic beer, don’t have one. After all, the only person worse than the dude who brings “Raging Bitch IPA” to the party is the culture warrior who whines about it.

Even the New York Times no longer buys into the “Southern Strategy” myth

When you’ve lost the NYT…:

The Myth of “the Southern Strategy”

Everyone knows that race has long played a decisive role in Southern electoral politics. From the end of Reconstruction until the beginning of the civil rights era, the story goes, the national Democratic Party made room for segregationist members — and as a result dominated the South. But in the 50s and 60s, Democrats embraced the civil rights movement, costing them the white Southern vote. Meanwhile, the Republican Party successfully wooed disaffected white racists with a “Southern strategy” that championed “states’ rights.”

It’s an easy story to believe, but this year two political scientists called it into question. In their book “The End of Southern Exceptionalism,” Richard Johnston of the University of Pennsylvania and Byron Shafer of the University of Wisconsin argue that the shift in the South from Democratic to Republican was overwhelmingly a question not of race but of economic growth. In the postwar era, they note, the South transformed itself from a backward region to an engine of the national economy, giving rise to a sizable new wealthy suburban class. This class, not surprisingly, began to vote for the party that best represented its economic interests: the G.O.P. Working-class whites, however — and here’s the surprise — even those in areas with large black populations, stayed loyal to the Democrats. (This was true until the 90s, when the nation as a whole turned rightward in Congressional voting.)
